Answers to the questions we are asked most often — about ordering, delivery, ring sizes, gold and platinum, and diamonds. If your question is not here, we are glad to answer it personally.

Ordering

How can I order a Sirius piece?

Choose a design on this website and send us an inquiry — directly from the design page or via the General Inquiry form. Tell us the metal, the diamond (natural or lab-grown, shape, carat) and, for rings, your size. We reply within two working days with a personal quotation and a proposal.

How are prices determined?

Every piece is made to order, so the price depends on the current gold or platinum price, the size and quality of the centre diamond, the ring size and any customisation. We therefore quote each piece individually, with no obligation.

How do I pay?

After you confirm the quotation, we issue a proforma invoice. Payment is by bank transfer; a deposit secures the diamond and starts production, and the balance is due before dispatch. Other payment methods can be arranged on request.

Can a design be customised?

Yes. Any Sirius design can be adapted — a different metal or colour, a different diamond origin, shape or size, a thinner or wider band, engraving, or a different setting. We can also create a completely new piece from your idea. See Custom Jewellery.

Delivery

How long does it take?

A made-to-order piece is usually ready in three to four weeks after the deposit is received; complex custom designs may take a little longer. We confirm the delivery date with your quotation.

Do you deliver worldwide?

Yes. We ship worldwide with an insured, tracked courier service (FedEx / DHL). Every parcel is fully insured until it is in your hands, and a signature is required on delivery.

Do I have to pay import duties or taxes?

Deliveries within the European Union carry no further duties. For destinations outside the EU, import duties and local taxes may apply according to the rules of your country; we will gladly estimate them for you in advance.

How is the jewellery packaged?

Each piece arrives in a Sirius presentation box with the diamond certificate and a card describing the piece and its materials — ready to be given as a gift.

Ring size

How do I find my ring size?

The most reliable way is to have your finger measured by a jeweller. Alternatively, measure the inner diameter of a ring that fits the intended finger well and send it to us — we work with all international size systems (EU, US, UK). If in doubt, we will advise you.

Can a ring be resized later?

Most Sirius rings can be resized by one or two sizes. Full eternity bands and some designs with stones all around the band cannot be resized, which is why we recommend measuring carefully before ordering.

Materials

Which gold do you use? What do 14K and 18K mean?

We craft in 14K (585/1000) and 18K (750/1000) gold, in yellow, white or rose colour. 18K gold contains more pure gold and has a warmer, richer colour; 14K is slightly harder and more durable for everyday wear. Both are hallmarked.

What is platinum 950?

Platinum 950 contains 95 % pure platinum. It is naturally white, does not need rhodium plating, is hypoallergenic and very dense — a lasting choice for engagement rings and wedding bands.

Is white gold plated?

Yes. White gold is an alloy of gold with white metals and is finished with a thin rhodium layer that gives it a bright white shine. Depending on wear, the plating can be renewed every few years — a quick service we are happy to provide.

Diamonds

What are the 4Cs of a diamond?

Cut, colour, clarity and carat. Cut determines how the diamond handles light and is the most important factor for sparkle. Colour is graded from D (colourless) downwards, clarity from Flawless to Included, and carat is the weight of the stone. We help you balance the four for the best result within your budget.

Natural or lab-grown — what is the difference?

Lab-grown diamonds are chemically, physically and optically identical to natural diamonds; the only difference is their origin. They allow a larger or higher-grade stone for the same budget. Natural diamonds are formed over billions of years and valued for their rarity. We offer both and advise on the choice with no preference.

Are your diamonds certified?

Yes. Centre stones are supplied with an independent GIA or IGI certificate (natural) or IGI / GIA certificate (lab-grown), and are laser-inscribed with the certificate number where possible.

Do you offer fancy coloured diamonds?

Yes. Sirius works with colourless and fancy coloured diamonds — yellow, pink, blue and others, natural and lab-grown. Ask us for a selection for your design.

Care & guarantee

How should I care for my jewellery?

Clean your piece gently with warm water, a drop of mild soap and a soft brush, then rinse and dry. Remove jewellery for sport, housework and swimming, and store it separately so stones do not scratch other pieces. We recommend a professional check of the settings once a year.

Is there a guarantee?

Every Sirius piece is covered by a statutory guarantee against manufacturing defects. Beyond that, we offer a lifetime care service — cleaning, checking of the settings and re-plating of white gold — at a small cost or free of charge, depending on the service.
